6 new school-related COVID-19 cases in Hamilton on Tuesday

Hamilton's public and Catholic school boards are reporting six new COVID-19 cases among staff and students on Tuesday.

Only three of those cases potentially exposed others in school

Hamilton's public and Catholic school boards are reporting six new COVID-19 cases among staff and students doing in-person learning.

Only three of those cases potentially exposed others in school.

AnAllan A. Greenleaf Elementary School staff member tested positive according to a notice fromthe Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board on Tuesday.

At the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board, a student atSt. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Elementary School was infected. The board says the studentwas last in school on Friday.

"Any students, staff or cohorts that are required to quarantine will be notified immediately by the school and will be contacted by Hamilton Public Health Services (HPHS) within the next two days," read the letter to families.

A student atSt. Michael Catholic Elementary School also tested positive for the virus and was last in school on Friday.

Both St. Michael and St. Teresa have closed a classroom as a result of the cases.
