Gabriel Dumont was recalled to the NHL on Friday by the Montreal Canadiens.

The 22-year-old Dumont leads the American Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs with 15 goals and 15 assists in 52 games.

Dumont, from Ville Degelis, Que., represented Hamilton at the 2013 AHL All-Star Classic.

The five-foot-10, 186-pound centre has played 175 regular season games over three seasons for the Bulldogs, with 72 points (33 goals, 39 assists) and 215 penalty minutes.

Dumont was originally selected by the Canadiens in the fifth round, 139th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He played three games for the Canadiens last season, with a minus-1 rating.
