Kitchener South-Hespeler: Liberal Marwan Tabbara elected

Liberal candidate Marwan Tabbara has won the new riding of Kitchener South-Hespeler with 42.8 per cent of the popular vote.

Liberal candidate Marwan Tabbarahas won the new riding of Kitchener South-Hespelerwith 42.8per centof the popular vote.With 69.2 per cent of polls counted,Conservative candidateMarianGagncamesecond with 35.9per cent of the popular vote, whileNDP candidateLorne Bruce camethird with15.3per cent.

Kitchener South-Hespeler is a new riding in the 2015 federal election, encompassingthe south end of Kitchener and north end of Cambridge. It includesformer chunks ofKitchener-Conestoga andCambridge, as well as a small section from Kitchener Centre.

According to 2011 census data, theridinghasamedian age of 36the lowestin Ontario outside the GTA.

Voters within that arealeaned to the right inpastfederal elections. But with no incumbent, Kitchener South-Hespeler was widely considered to be anyone's race in 2015.
