CBC Kitchener off the air in large internet outage
Large-scale technical outage puts some broadcasting offline
CBC Kitchener-Waterloo's radio station has been taken offline due to technical issues, inan internet outage affecting many Rogers telecommunication customers acrossCanada.
The station went off the air about 5 a.m. ET Friday.
CBC technicians are working on restoring programming.In the meantime, CBClisteners in Waterloo region and Wellington County are receiving programming from Toronto and/or London, Ont.
Mobile,internetcustomers affected
The communicationsoutage is affectingRogers Ontario customers from Windsor to Sault Ste Marie.
Police in many locations, including Waterloo region, have noted that Rogers and Fido mobile or home phone customers may not have telephone service and would be unable to call 911 service if needed.
We recognize that @Rogers Network customers are experiencing a Canada-wide outage affecting cell and internet services.
Some may experience issues connecting with 9-1-1.
