75% of people in Waterloo region fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Just over 75 per cent of the entire population of Waterloo region is now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, public health's vaccination dashboard showed Tuesday.

Just over three-quarters of the entire population of Waterloo region is now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, public health's vaccination dashboard showed Tuesday.

The region reported75.07 per cent of the entire population has been vaccinated. That's 87.18 per cent of all eligible people. Children aged 11 and younger cannot yet receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

The region reported eight new cases and 100 active cases as of Tuesday.

There were 12 people in the region's three hospitals infectious with the virus and three people were in the intensive care unit. People in the ICU may not necessarily still be infectious but require ongoing, specialized care.

There were also four outbreaks reported:

  • Junior's Sportsbar and Grill in Cambridgewith five cases.
  • A construction workplace with two cases.
  • Breslau Public School with three cases.
  • Conestogo Public School with two cases over multiple cohorts.
