Environment Canada issues heat warning for London area
Temperatures are expected to reach 31 C
A heat warning is in place for London, Ont. and surrounding areas as temperatures are expected to rise above 30 degrees during a two-day heat event.
Environment Canada said in a statement it expects temperatures to reach 31 Cwith humidex values in the low fortiesMonday and Tuesday this week.
Temperatures are expected to cool down Tuesday night.
The warning extends to Parkhill and Eastern Middlesex County.
Extreme heat can be dangerous for people who do not take proper precautions, said Environment Canada.
Older adults, children, pregnant peopleand people with illnesses, disabilities or mobility issues face greater health risks.
Safety tips from Environment Canada include not leaving children and pets inside parkedvehicles and drinking water before feeling thirsty.
