David Angus resigns from Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce after 17 years as president

The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce will have a new person at the helm after David Angus resigned as president and CEO, a position he held for 17 years.

The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce will have a new person at the helm after David Angus resigned as president and CEO, a position he held for 17 years.

Angus will remain with the chamber until the end of July before returning to the private sector. He will be replaced by Loren Remillard,the current chamber executive vice-president.

While Angus was president, the Chamber reached its highest membership levels and was recognized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce as an Accredited Chamber with Distinction, a news release from the Chamber of Commerce said.

"Leaders like Dave Angus are one in a generation," Priti Mehta-Shah, the chamber's chair, said in the release. "Our entire city and province are better for having had him at the helm of the chamber and at the forefront of our community."

Alana Odegard has moved into the role of chamber executive vice-president.
