Car crash on Highway 440 in Laval leaves driver dead

Quebec provincial police closed down part of Highway 440westboundin Laval for several hours Friday afternoonfollowing a fatal accident.

They say a small car crashed into a tractor trailer during the Fridayafternoon rush hour.

The driver of the car died.

The highway was reopened in the evening. Until then,traffic had to bere-routed onto the service road at Boulevard Industriel, near the exit forHighway 15.

Investigators are working totry to determine the cause of the crash.
