Osheaga will be even closer to Saint-Lambert next summer

Festivals relocated due to upcoming construction at Parc Jean-Drapeau

Montreal'sOsheagamusic festival, along withHeavyMontraland leSoniq, will be relocated to the neighbouringle Notre-Dame in 2017 due to construction onleSainte-Hlne.

That means the festival site will be less than 1 kilometre away from houses inSaint-Lambert.

Residents in the area have complained before and are engaged in an ongoing legal battle over noise levels coming from summer festivals.

Noise levels of108 decibels have been recorded at the concert site on leSainte-Hlneand a level of 68 decibelswas recorded at one residence inSaint-Lambert.

TheWorld Health Organizationconsiders noise above 55 dB to be "disturbing tosleep."

Montreal isredeveloping the popular festival siteto increase capacity from 45,000 to 65,000 people,as part of the city's 375thanniversary celebrations.

The $70-millionproject will include construction ofanew amphitheatre facingSaint-Lambert across the river.

Evenko has not yet said where exactly the festivals will be set up onle Notre-Dame andwhat transportation options there will be.
