Road closed in downtown Montreal after water main break

A water main break overnight Thursday led to flooding on a stretch of downtown on University between Sherbrooke and Milton streets.

Anik de Repentigny, aspokesperson for Montreal's Plateau-Mont-Royal borough,said the road had to be closed for repairs.

The city is handing out bottles of water to residents whohad their water shut off, deRepentignysaid.

She said it's not clear when the repairs will be completed.
