Crabbe Mountain is open for business after being sold to a group of local investors and avid ski enthusiasts.

Chris Ramsey told Information Morning Frederictonthe new owners are well-suited to the work ahead.

"We've got passionate local skiers who know the industry and have been a part of the fabric of Crabbe for decades, [now] in management roles, working on how to take the hill forward."

Spectacular opportunity up there for lots of different events and outdoor adventure.- Chris Ramsey

Ramsey said the focus of the first season will making the hill a great place to ski. He said the last couple of years have been challenging, "simply because of all the rumours about whether the hill was going to survive."

While this year is all about "attitude and customer service," Ramsey said theirgroup is looking into the future and will be working to figure out how to make Crabbea year-round destination.

A group of local people took ownership of Crabbe Mountain ski hill on Friday. Chris Ramsey tells us more about their plans.
"Are we going to run chairlifts 24/7 all summer to pull mountain bikes up the hill? Maybe, maybe not. Is there spectacular opportunity up there for lots of different events and outdoor adventure activities up there? Absolutely."

Ramsey also pointed to a potentialresumption of the popular school program, which brought hundreds of students to the hill one afternoon a week, throughout the winter.

"Every kid that we can turn into a lifelong lover of skiing and outdoors it's a great thing."

Season passes are on sale now and Crabbe's website will be online again later this week, Ramsey said.
