No injuries after fire in Rankin Inlet housing units
RCMP say there was 'significant damage' after fire on Monday morning in area six
RCMP in Rankin Inlet say nobody was hurt, but therewas "significant damage" froma fire in a housing unit on Monday morning.
Police were called to a 5-unit housing block on 68th street, in area six, at about 9 a.m.
Police said there was significant damageto two end units, and firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze before it spread further. Rankin Inlet's fire chief later said damage was isolated to theunit that was on fire.
Police say the homeshad been evacuated and nobody was hurt.
RCMPinvestigators areworking with the fire marshaland the local fire department to determine what caused the blaze.
The housing units are owned by the Nunavut Housing Corporation.
