Group offers cash reward for information about 'Tulie'

An animal welfare advocate has found out more information about a dog that was badly beaten, shot and left dead in a dumpster next to the Copper Road Veterinary Clinic last month.

Jordi Mikeli-Jones says through tips and phone calls, she's learned the dog's name was Tulie. She says the Labrador retriever-pitbull cross was tied up in a yard in downtown Whitehorse when she was stolen last October.

"Anybody who knows of somebody that came into possession of a dog on or around the middle of October, certainly we encourage them to come forward," says Mikeli-Jones.

Her organization, Kona's Coalition, is offering a $7,500 reward for information about the case.

The necropsy on Tulie revealed she was about one year old and had been severely beaten before being left in the dumpster. She had several scars, broken bones and one of her pawshad been sawnoff after she was killed.

The RCMP are taking over the investigation into Tulie's deathfrom bylaw services.
