N.W.T. hunter Lanny Stewart, missing since Monday, found safe

Stewart went out hunting around 9:30 a.m. near the N.W.T./Yukon border and said he'd return by supper time that same day.

Just onedayafter RCMP decided to scale back their search for a missing N.W.T. hunter due to harsh weather conditions, Lanny Stewart was found safe Saturday night.

Stewart, 37, hadlast been seen Monday around 9:30 a.m. at the James Creek camp near the N.W.T./Yukon border.

He headed out on his ATV towardsthe valley behind the camp and said he'd be back by supper time that day.

The search began when Stewart didn't return by then.

Earlier this week, searchers found an ATV matching the description of Stewart's, but they couldn't find any other trace of him due to blowing snow.

But local searchers remained hopeful.

Nearly a week after Stewartwent missing, an emotional video on Facebookshows he has made it back to his family and friends.

It's not clear exactly what happened to Stewart and where he was found. In the posted video, it appears he was not seriously injured.

Many people commented on the video, expressing their joy.
