Winds gusted up to 120 km in multiple regions of territory for two days

It was a blustery start to the week in Nunavut, with blizzard warnings in effect for the Kivalliq, Kitikmeot and High Arctic regions. Winds in those areas were gusting up to 120 km/hSundayevening through Tuesday night, causing low visibilitydue to blowing snow.

The strong storm system responsible for this windy weather has started to ease up, ending blizzard conditions in most communities, but windy weather is still expected in the Kivalliq and Cambridge Bay this morning and afternoon.

Despite the frosty conditions, many of our CBC readers ventured out into the snow to document the storms. Turn up the heat, grab a warm blanket, and take a look through our gallery for a glimpse into life in Nunavut during ablizzard.
