Members of Yellowknife's Municipal Services Committee will be discussing the safety of Frame Lake trail today.

Council has asked for an update on a plan to make the nine-kilometre trail safer.

In July a woman was sexually assaulted along the trail near Somba K'e Park.

Many people in Yellowknife, especially women, say they don't walk the trail alone at night because they're afraid for their safety.

RCMP are investigating last months assault as well as another sexual assault that happened only hours later on Sissons Court.

The Municipal Services Committee meets Monday at noon.
