Dalhousie medical student charged, suspended from university

Dalhousie University has increased its security today after a medical student was charged with uttering threats against two people with connections to the Dalhousie community.

Dalhousie University increased its security today after a medical student was charged with uttering threats against twopeople with connections tothe Dalhousie community.

Stephen Tynes, 30, was charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and one count of engaging in threatening conduct.

He was released from custody under conditions and has been suspended from the university.

He must live under supervision, he must not come within 25 kilometres of Dalhousie's Carleton campus except under supervision and he must not possess firearms.

The school's security has increased its presence at the Sir Charles Tupper medical buildingandis asking anyone who observes suspicious activity around campus to report it immediately.

Police said the situation was not related to theTaylorSamson murder investigation.
