3 dead, 4 injured after separate crashes on Highway 4

Nova Scotia RCMP saythree people are dead following two separatecrashes on Highway 4Thursday afternoon and early Friday.

Both incidents being investigated, RCMP say

Nova Scotia RCMP saythree people are dead following two separatecrashes on Highway 4Thursday afternoon and early Friday.

Richmond County police responded to a report of a single-vehicle motorcycle crasheast of St. Peter's, near Lynche River in Cape Breton, at around 2:40 p.m. Thursday.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 62-year-old Sydney man, was pronounced dead after being brought to the hospital.

Police saidhe was travelling east on Highway 4 when his vehicle went off the road.

2 dead in Antigonish-area crash

At 12:05 a.m. Friday, Antigonish County RCMP responded to reports of a collision between a Honda Pilot and a Dodge Caravan in Lower South Rivernear the 400 block of Highway4.

The 41-year-old driver of the Caravan, a woman from Antigonish,was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital, while the sole occupant of the Pilot, a 58-year-old woman from Afton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four passengers of the Caravan were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP said investigations into both crashes areongoing.
