Halifax Hurricanes lose to London Lightning in nail biting Game 6

Game six of the National Basketball League of Canada Championships betweenthe Halifax Hurricanes and the London Lightning was a nail biter.

But the Hurricanes lost 9193 in the end,forcing a game seven at the Scotiabank Centre Monday night.

"Nothing's happy becausewe lost at the buzzer," said the Hurricane's head coach Hugo Lopez.

"It was a back and forth game, we had the lead by seven points. I mean we've never been consistentoffensively you know, they're giving us a hard time...and we never got a good flow of the game."

"But still we are home, we is going to be positive, we have to defend our home tomorrow, we should be allright," said Lopez.

Cliff Clinkscales is the point guard for the Hurricanes, he said the two teams are evenly matched.

"I'm not surprised, they a good team, they been the best team on their side, we've been the best team on our side, so this is what it's all about Game 7, one game to see who is the champs."

'Sort or ruined my day'

Fans were shocked and disappointed by the team's sudden loss.

"Sort of ruined my day," said 10-year-oldJerraylinJordan.

His thoughts were echoed by youghBrycenClark, "I thought they were going to win...a little disappointed but I know they can take it tomorrow."

"I really didn't think at the last second he was going to tip it in, but it is what is and we're back here tomorrow night at seven o'clock," said fan Colin Henderson.

Rainmen no more

This is the Hurricanes's first season with the NBL.The team wasrebranded fromthe Halifax Rainmen. Only one player on this year's team played for the Rainmenin 2015.

The Hurricanes ended the regular season as the top team in the league, but it's still struggling to find a consistent fan base.

Team general manager Andre Levingston said in May he hoped the finals will help motivate basketball fans to fill the stadium in support of the team.
