Jamie Alan Goreham, high-risk offender, has moved to Halifax

A high-risk offender convicted of sexual assault in Alberta and who is facing similar charges in Nova Scotia is being allowed to move again, this time to Halifax.

On Friday, Halifax Regional Police said 42-year-old Jamie Alan Gorehamis now inthe Halifax area. Police say he has been assessed as a high risk to reoffend.

Goreham isscheduled to appear in Nova Scotia Supreme Court on Feb. 5 on charges ofsexual assault, sexual interference and luring that stem from 2012.

Little more than a week ago,Nova Scotia RCMPannounced Gorehamwas returning from serving a sentence in Albertaand would live in the South Shore communityof Barrington.

Nova Scotia's public prosecution office confirmed Friday Goreham's probation officer gave him permission to live at a specific Halifax address. He is seeking formal court approval to live in Halifax.

Gorehamis currently on probation following his release from a Calgary jail for convictions that include sexual assaults.

He committed those offences after he was released from custody on a recognizanceon the Nova Scotia charges in 2012, and subsequently moved to Grande Prairie, Alta.

Police have said his probation requires himto follow strict conditions, including restrictions on any activity that involves contact with childrenunder the age of 16.

Goreham has a criminal record that dates back to 1991. Itincludes sexual offences involvinggirls under the age of 14.
