Reward offered in Marriott murder

The Nova Scotia Department of Justice announced Tuesday that it's offering a large reward for information leading to an arrest in a high-profile murder.

The department said it is offering a cash reward of up to $150,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction in theshooting deathof Terry Marriott Jr., 34.

Marriott was found dead in a bungalow on Whitehead Road in Harrietsfield in February of 2009.

The reward is the latest addition to the Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program.

"Investigators in the HRP/RCMP Major Crime Unit believe that people have information surrounding the details of Terry Marriott Jr.'s death," said Halifax Regional Police Chief Jean-Michel Blais in a news release.

"As is the case with many homicide files, we require community support to further our investigation. We need people to break the code of silence by either calling police, Crime Stoppers or the Major Unsolved Crimes Program."

The program was launched in October 2006. There are now 67 cases in the program.
