A 25-year-old Charlottetown-area man fractured a leg in a motorcycle crash Monday evening on Riverside Drive on the roundabout closest to the Garfield Street exit in Charlottetown, police say.

Charlottetown Police Services said it received a complaint Monday evening about the crash, and investigated.

"A combination of two major contributing factors one being driver error and the other, speed," led to the crash, said Deputy Police Chief Gary McGuigan.

The driver failed to negotiate a turn and was thrown from the motorcycle, McGuigan said, and was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for injuries.

The driver is facing four charges under the Highway Traffic Act, McGuigan said. Those include driving with no license, no registration, no insurance and driving anuninspected vehicle.
