It shouldbe much easier to book an airline seat from Charlottetown to Toronto this winter.

Officials at Charlottetown Airport are excited about an Air Canada announcement this week that Air Canada Rouge will begin operating year-round from Charlottetown. That's a change from theMay to October operation.

Starting Dec. 16 it will be year-round, and Air Canada will be offering two daily Rouge flights from Charlottetown to Toronto.

Previously, the airport didn't have Rouge flightsin the winter months the two Toronto flights were usinga smaller jet witha 76-seat capacity.

This winter, the two Rouge flightswill have 136- and 200-seat capacity the same number of seats they have insummer.

On a typical dayAir Canada will be going from 152 seats per day to roughly 300, airport CEO Doug Newson said.

"It results in a lot of additional capacity for our market," said Newson.

"We're certainly pleased to see that growth take place in what is the traditionally slower time of year at the airport."
