Westwood school music program gets funding
More students at Westwood Primary School will get to play instruments in a new music program thanks to a donation from the Canada Post Community Foundation.
Teacher Synthia MacEachern brought the program to the Cornwall, P.E.I. school four years ago. The program emphasizes getting the kids out of their seats and moving around, playing different instruments.
But the instruments are expensive, and despite extensive fundraising from the Home and School Association too many students have had to wait for a turn.
On Wednesday the Canada Post Community Fund delivered a $5,000 cheque for the program to buy new instruments.
