Cows missing since 2008 found, woman charged

RCMP have made an arrest in a six-year-old cattle rustling case and they've found the lost cows.

Five cow-calf pairs worth $13,000 to $15,000 were seized last Friday from a fenced pasture in the rural municipality of Glenside, which is in the Biggar area, about 110 kilometres west of Saskatoon.

A woman, 49, has been charged with five counts of fraudulently keeping cattle found astray contrary to the Criminal Code.The Sonningdale, Sask., resident makes her first court appearance in Biggar provincial court on Nov. 5.

The animals had been missing since 2008.

Police say the offspring produced from the stolen cattle over the six year period is valued at approximately $17,500.

The animals,described as being in very good condition,arebeing detained and monitored by Livestock Services of Saskatchewan.
