Check out the view from the 13th floor of the River Landing condo tower

The hotel and condo project at Saskatoon's River Landing development is almosthalf completed, according to project manager Triovest.

"I would say plus or minus 40 per cent complete, with placement of exterior walls now underway," said Blair Sinclair, an executive vice president with Triovest.

The 17-storey hotel and 20-storey condo building will stand side by side across from theRemaiModern Art Museum.

"Both are targeting to be operational in 2019. Exact dates are unknown," said Sinclair.

The foundationof a nearby office tower, which counts law firm MLT Aitkinsas a confirmed tenant,can be seen in the above video.

Going up?

The Alt Hotel will offer a sweeping view of downtown Saskatoon, while condos will face the South Saskatchewan River.

CBC was able to take a tour of the 13th floor of the condo building on a clear sunny day last week, via a lift being used during the construction stage. Construction workon the upper floors prevented access higher up.

But the 13th floor, standing more than 40 metres tall, still givesa pretty goodidea of what the River Landing view will look like.

Brutal wind coursed through the empty floor.

"Cold weather creates productivity challenges but on the office side we have added more resources to maintain our schedule to have the building ready for tenant fixturing in the second quarter of 2019," said Sinclair.
