Ontario Provincial Police want people to think twice before posting a photo of a collision online.

Inspector Mark Andrews saida photo of a crash in northeastern Ontario last weekmade it online not long after it happened.

He said people should think before they publish online and on social media.

They have to remember that the crashed vehicle that theyre capturing an image of isnt just a thing, he said.

There is a person in there. Its linked back to a family [and] its linked to a human being.

He added police have a certain procedure for releasing information about a collision, and information online can impact how that is done.

Let us do our job and let us get a hold of the family thats impacted by that collision, Andrews said.
