Tax policy approved by Thunder Bay city council

The residential tax rate of 3.63 per cent was approved at Thunder Bay city council Monday night with no debate.

The policy also includes an increaseof about 2.5 per cent for commercial properties.

Last night, councillors also approved a rebate program for low income homeowners on their water and tax bills.

After some debate, council decided to go ahead with a rebate of $100 per water and tax account for the upcoming year.
