Firefighters rescue boy from Scarborough Bluffs

Toronto Fire has rescued a "school-aged" child halfway down the Scarborough Bluffs.

Toronto Fire rescued a "school-aged" boy from halfway down the Scarborough Bluffs Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters received the call around 1:40 p.m. for a stranded child. They workedwith police and paramedics to carry out a technical rescue or a "rope rescue."

Toronto Fire could notconfirm the boy's age but say his father was on his way to the scene.

"It is a dangerous operation," saidCapt. MichaelWestwood."It takes a lotofresourcesto get a person who gets stranded off thebluffs."
