1 man dead after shooting at Carlaw Avenue and Queen Street East

One man is deadafter a shootingin the Carlaw Avenue and Queen Street East area.

Police say they were called to the area just before 10 p.m. Wednesday about reports that a man had been shot.One person reported hearing eightshots, another reported hearing seven andstill another heard five.

A man was transported to a trauma centre with multiple gunshot wounds andsuccumbed to his injuries.

There is no information on a suspect at this time. Avehicle isreported to have fled the scene.

Carlaw Avenueremains closed in both directions from DundasStreet East to Colgate Avenue. Police are warning the public to avoid the area.
