U2 performs in Paris following postponed show after Nov. 13 attacks

U2 is returning to Paris for a landmark concert Sunday following the devastatingNovember attacks in the city that left 130 people dead.

The Irish band will perform at the AccorHotelsarena located on the north bank of the River SeineDec. 6and 7.

U2, known for making political statements during their shows,vowed to return to the European capital after cancelling previous performances scheduled to take place a day after the attacks.

Frontman Bonosaid hehas written a new song honouring Pariscalled Streets of Surrender, with lyrics like "everytime I get lost down these ancient streets, I find myself again"and "you can decide whether to forget or remember." The band will perform the song at Sunday's event.

U2 announceda surprise guest is planned for Sunday's show as well.However,the banddispelled rumoursof an on-stagecollaboration with Eagles of Death Metal, the Californiarock band that was performing at Paris's Bataclan theatre whenterrorists opened fire in the crowd duringcoordinated attacks in the city.

"Some people have been saying that Eagles of Death Metal will appear on stage with U2 tonight," the online statement said."This is not the case."

In the past, U2 haspaid tribute during their concerts to victimsimmediately following theSept. 11, 2001attack on the World Trade Centerand to those who were killed in the 2005 London bombings.
