Aboriginal artists nominated for Juno Awards

The nominations for the 2014 Juno Awards were announced today.
Electronic group A Tribe Called Red earned two Juno nominations. The electronic group, comprised of DJs NDN, Bear Witness andDJ Shub, werenominated for Electronic Album of the Year and Breakthrough Group of the Year.

Desiree Dorionfrom Dauphin, Manitoba, is nominated for her country album titled Small Town Stories.Blues manGeorge Leach earned a nomination for his album Surrender.
Yamantaka//Sonic Titan,an Asian, indigenous and diasporic musical collective from Montreal,garnered a nod in the Alternative Album category.
Spearheaded by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the 43th annual Juno Awards will be held in Winnipegon March 30 after a week of musical celebrations across the city.
Artists who released albums between Sept. 1, 2012, and Nov. 13, 2013, were eligible for nominations.
