My Idol is the internet'slatest, and perhaps creepiest, obsession. The avatar generator, currently trending in the app store, is a Chinese application written in Chinese. The language barrieris causing some confusion for increasingly hooked users, and that could be making some of the resultseven more ridiculous.
How it works: After taking oruploading a selfie, users can dress their cartoon avatar (think Bratz dollmeetsdancing baby) andmake it do stufflike pole-dance or sing Frozen's Let it Go on an icy throne.
Some have had trouble getting the app to assign them the rightgender, but according to Elle's English translation of the instructions, that may be an easy fix.
