CBC's Nahlah Ayed details the conditions of refugees as they try to make their way to freedom

Busloads of refugees from Syria and Iraq many of them women and children arrived Friday at a point near the border between Serbia and Croatia, CBC's Nahlah Ayed reports from the scene.

Surrounded by cornfields through which they will walk the remaining two kilometres to the border, people are given water, fruit and umbrellas to protect them from the sun.

"It must be 40 degrees," Ayed said.

Croatia's Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic said Friday his country wants people to move on to Hungary or Slovenia. He said Thursday that "our resources are limited," adding that "we will not and cannot keep them in Croatia, and no one will make us do that."
