Cardboard Castle Desk Organizer

Transform cardboard tubes into a castle desk organizer — perfect for little medieval fans. 

This easy recycled craft is great for kids of all ages (younger kids will need some help with the hot glue). Kids will love creating and personalizing their own desk organizer and once it's made, they can organize their writing, drawing and art supplies any way they please. 

You Will Need:

• cardboard tubes: toilet paper and paper towel rolls
• paint
• painbrush
• markers
• craft foam and/or construction paper
• something to use for the base of your castle desk organizer: thick cardboard, a shoebox lid or styrofoam takeout container lid
• glue gun and hot glue
• white glue
• scissors

Instructions: 

1. Arrange toilet paper and paper towel rolls into a castle shape on the base (we used a piece of thick cardboard).

Toilet paper rolls are the perfect height for corner towers. You may want to cut paper towel or toilet paper rolls into shorter lengths for the centre pieces.

2. Paint the rolls and let them dry.

3. While the rolls are drying, make other decorations for your castle.

Paint the base blue or cover it with construction paper or craft foam to make a moat, build a drawbridge or a boat or create characters who will live in the castle. 

4. Once the paint is dry on the rolls, use paint or markers to add windows, doors and turrets to your castle.

5. Use hot glue to glue the decorated rolls into place. Younger kids will need help with this step.

6. Add your other decorations and glue them in to place. 

7. All done! Fill the castle with pens, pencils, stickers, paper clips and other desk and arts supplies.
