Turn Coffee Grounds into a Sugar Scrub For An Easy DIY Mother’s Day Gift

By Jen Kossowan

Apr 27, 2016

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and nothing says "I love you, mom" quite like a homemade gift. This lovely DIY sugar scrub combines two things many mamas love — coffee and being pampered! Making it requires just a few kitchen ingredients and it’s so easy to put together that many kids will be able to make it all on their own, which means that they’ll be extra proud to gift it to mom come the big day.

What You'll Need

  • 1/2 cup of oil (we love coconut, but a good olive or almond oil is great too)
  • 1/2 cup of sugar (we use a combination of fine white sugar and coarse demerara sugar for a lovely texture combination)
  • 1/4 cup of coffee grounds (these can be fresh or previously used)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pure vanilla

How It's Made

Dump everything into a bowl and mix well!

How easy is that?!

Just for fun you can add a strip of washi tape or a piece of ribbon around the lid and your gift is ready to be given!  Mom will love how soft and refreshed she feels after a morning shower with her coffee sugar scrub that was made with love.
