Owl Watercolour Paintings

One of my favourite ways to paint with the kids is using watercolour paints—they have beautiful colours and produce amazing results.

These sweet little owl watercolour paintings are simple, beautiful and fun to do together. Your kids will love them! 

You Will Need:

• watercolour paper
• watercolour paints
• paint brush
• cup of clean water
• one black crayon

Instructions:

1. Tear a sheet of watercolour paper out of the pad. Grab a black crayon and draw an outline of an owl. I find this is the easiest way to get younger children to use the watercolour paints. My daughter, who is 8, drew owls on her own.

2. Grab your watercolour paints, a paint brush and a cup of clean water and let the painting begin!

Pre-drawing the design in crayon makes painting so much easier, especially for younger children.

3. To make your owl watercolour painting a wintery scene, spray or dab some white paint over the painting to appear like snow.

4. Allow to dry completely and proudly display your masterpiece!
