Remembrance Day is November 11th in Canada. My kids are learning about the significance of Remembrance Day in school and are proudly wearing their poppies on their jackets. Here’s a fun Remembrance Day craft for kids that is inspired by the famous poem “In Flanders Fields the poppies blow.”
What You’ll Need
- watercolour paper
- watercolour paints
- paint brush
- black Buttons
- red scrapbook papers cut into different shaped circles
- glue
- cup of water
How To Make It
1. Lay out some newspapers, or a large piece of cardboard and set up your craft. Lay out your paper, paints, brushes and water.
2. Paint the watercolour paper with your watercolour paints. We made a nice green field and a blue sky. Add some green poppy stems.
3. Grab your red scrapbook papers and glue them onto the poppy stems going from largest to smallest. Glue a black button in the middle of the poppy.
4. Allow your masterpiece to dry and proudly display!
