Coup! Coup! How dare they? I am so outraged!

Ive been asked to report on how Canadians on the web have reacted to the current political turmoil.

Heres an educated guess: by looking up prorogue.

Then maybe some wiki-research on Canadas Parliamentary system.

After that, everybody chose a side and started creating online petitions, Facebooks groups, Youtube videos and the rest. Heres a roundup:

Prince-syntaxed petition against the coalition and the NDPs secret agenda. 80,000+ sigs and counting!

Rally-planning pro-coalition site. Bonus: logo makes Canada look like Disneys Magic Kingdom!
• Canadians for a Progressive Coalition
Hastily-produced cutesy video urges signatures for a pro-co-alish petition (18,000+ at the moment).
• Is Harper Prime Minister?
Hopeful countdown from anti-Conservative minimalists.

*gasp* Prorogued Parliament. Honestly though, this whole coalition (Liberal/ NDP and BQ support)is a waste of money in a day and age where money is becoming scarce. So they're really making it worse for us people who are working for a living. I also can't how idiotic Gilles Duceppe is. the ONLY reason why he is recognized as a national party is because he has some of the popular vote. Maybe he should move to Paris, and then maybe people would appreciate him more. His party does nothing for Canada. Or benefit for that matter.

Well, The Bloc represents a certain demographic in Canada, the french canadians who have long felt used and abused by the english-speaking majority. I'M not saying it's still the case nowadays, but it's a remnant of the past. The conservatives represent the western Canada, who are more traditional in their thinking and more religious. Quebec got seriously burned by religion in the 50's and 60's. And the liberals who represent english eastern Canada, less rigid and religious, and right now they are paying for their abuse of power. I find most politicians are power-hungry, as that is probably their principal motivation to get into the ring. Justin, why would a canadian party who represents a certain demographic move to Paris? As a bilingual quebecer, comments like yours just add oil to the fire, increasing the distance between Canada's 2 realities. "Why can't we all just get along?"

I knew that coalition was a possibility when I first cast my ballot a month ago. Why all the fuss to prevent something that's utterly legal, democratic, and parliamentary?
