Reverend Billy Talen

Reverend Billy and The Church of Stop Shopping have been resisting the monoculture since 1999. They have staged actions from The British Museum to The San Fernando Valley in California to Monsanto's World Headquarters in Saint Louis to Disneyland. They have campaigned against Mountaintop Removal, gentrification, police brutality, pipelines and climate change. Their tactics include performance, civil disobedience, media making, and cartography. In 2015, the group opened for Neil Young on his Rebel Content Tour. He is the author of The Earth Wants You! published by City Lights in 2016. Reverend Billy has been arrested more than 50 times for nonviolent civil disobedience.
