The benefits of a good night's sleep are almost too many to count. Getting enough sleep (that's AT LEAST seven hours , but preferably more) leads to better heart health , can "reset your emotional compass " and can even lead to a better sex life . And that's just the beginning. Pulling an all-nighter , on the other hand, is more dangerous than you think .

The data for the infographic was compiled from a survey conducted in October of 1,000 American men and women, commissioned by Health o meter nuyu, a wellness technology company.

As you look ahead to the new year, put "more sleep" -- ideally seven to nine hours a night -- on the top of your resolutions list.
