With the closing of movie theaters across the country since March, streaming services provided the bulk of the new movies in 2020.

Films such as Hulus Palm Springs and Amazon Primes Small Axe collection provided some high-quality-yet-small-screen respite for those missing the theatrical form. Netflix alone debuted multiple new movies weekly throughout the year. Most of these were forgettable, but the service did contribute at least a dozen films worth watching in 2020.
