Barron Trump , who at 18 is the youngest son of Donald Trump , made his political debut Tuesday night when the former president introduced him to a rally crowd in Florida.

Barron Trump! This is the first time hes ever done it, Barron, Trump said and then asked for him to stand up.

Many in the crowd stood and cheered, including Eric Trump and MyPillow CEO and conspiracy theorist Mike Lindell . Donald Trump Jr ., seated nearby, applauded.

The former president called Barron a very special guy and said he got accepted by every college he wanted. Trump said his son had selected one but didnt name it.

So Barron, its good to have you. Welcome to the scene, Barron, I dont know, Trump said. He had such a nice, easy life. Now, its a little bit changed. Anyway. Special guy, right?

Barron, who was a child through Trumps presidency, has been kept out of the spotlight.

There have been hints he may become a more visible campaign presence for his father since turning 18 in the spring. In May, the Florida Republican Party announced he would be one of the states at-large delegates at the Republican National Convention. However, Melania Trump s office quickly issued a statement saying he would not attend the event.

The former first lady has also remained largely out of the public eye for much of her husbands campaign.
