Businessman and reality TV star Donald Trump won a resounding victory in the Georgia Republican primary on Tuesday, beating Sens. Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ted Cruz (Texas), his chief rivals for the GOP nomination.

With 76 Republican delegates up for grabs, Georgia had more delegates at stake Tuesday than any of the other Super Tuesday states, save for Texas. Delegates will be awarded proportionally, based on the final vote tallies.

Trump has consistently led polls in the Peach State, where evangelical Christians make up more than half of all GOP primary voters. In Georgia, as in South Carolina, support for Trump's immigration and trade policies seem to have overshadowed potential doubts that religious voters might have had about the thrice-married casino mogul.

Surveys have also shown that Georgia's Republican primary voters overwhelmingly endorse Trump's proposal to ban Muslims from entering the United States.

At a rally in Valdosta, Georgia, on Monday night, Trump introduced NASCAR CEO Brian France, who publicly endorsed him. France was joined on stage by a few of NASCAR's professional drivers, who also endorsed Trump. To those who follow stock car racing, the endorsements came as a surprise, especially given NASCAR's complicated history with Trump.

The event was held on the campus of Valdosta State University, and reportedly drew more than 5,000 attendees. But it was marred by videos that showed more than two dozen black students being expelled from the arena before the rally had even started. The students said that Trump wanted them ejected, despite the fact that they were standing quietly in the bleachers.
