We've got to hand it to Eva Mendes right now: not only is she killing it in the boyfriend department , but her summer style game is pretty on point. When the weather heats up, we get a little confused and flustered. (Maybe we've even paired shorts with heels .) Eva, on the other hand, has a hot weather look that is focused and fool-proof. Though teeny in frame, the girl knows her way around wide stripes, bright solids and big floral patterns (which look gorgeous on her olive skin, much like screen siren Sophia Loren ).

Her secret is all in the fit. She keeps it ladylike in swingy, waist-cinching skirts and dresses, which make her look curvy but don't overwhelm her shape. Her outfits sing, thanks to the addition of fun accessories like the blue retro shades, textured bags...and ever-present Starbucks. So we hereby declare Eva Mendes our Summer 2012 Style Muse. Flip through the gallery to see our favorite looks -- hopefully you'll be as inspired as we are.
