Everyone loves an amazing kitchen renovation, especially when it's got an interesting backstory.

Which is why we wanted to introduce you to this surprising transformation, and a stunning one at that. Though this house in the United Kingdom was uninhabited upon moving in, we learned from Reddit that it previously belonged to a serious hoarder (yikes!). And like many homes neglected by junk-collectors, the entire place called for a complete makeover.

According to the Redditor , the kitchen renovation spanned a little over a year, so the homeowners were forced to prepare meals in a rice cooker in another room.

After drawing inspiration from several showrooms, 4000 pounds (or a little less than $7000) later, doors were swapped out, floors were re-tiled, a roof was replaced and a brand new kitchen emerged. And aside from electrical work and the roof installation, the place was all DIY. Pretty impressive!

Next up on their plate? Apparently a lounge room (see: before and after images for a sneak preview.)

For a peek into their kitchen remodel, be sure to flip through the photos below. And if you're inspired to work on some DIYs of your own, you might want to avoid the ones we've pulled together in the following slideshow, just to stay on the safe side!
