Nikki Haley is now set to speak at the Republican National Convention , despite not initially receiving an invitation to the event.

According to The Wall Street Journal , the former South Carolina governor has accepted an offer to address attendees at this weeks convention in Milwaukee.

As the Journal reported, the move is an attempt to coalesce Republicans into a united front following an apparent assassination attempt at a Donald Trump campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday that left the former president wounded.

Previously, Chaney Denton, a spokesperson for Haley, told Politico that the Republican National Committee did not extend an invitation to the politician but added that Haley was fine with the reported snub.

Trump deserves the convention he wants, Denton said. Shes made it clear shes voting for him and wishes him the best.
