Peggy Lipton won our hearts playing doe-eyed blonde Julie Barnes on the '60s TV police drama "The Mod Squad ." With her hip style and model looks, it came as no surprise that the native New Yorker was linked to that decade's hottest musical talents, including Paul McCartney, Elvis Presley and Quincy Jones. Yet, it was a marriage to the latter that led to her taking a hiatus from acting to focus on her new role as mother to daughters, Kidada and Rashida . Luckily, Lipton's style was not sacrificed.

While we are amazed at how much she reminds us of her youngest daughter in a simple T-shirt and jeans , or her perfect summer combination of oversized sunglasses and a floppy hat , we'd be remiss not to give Lipton props for remaining super sophisticated.

In celebration of Lipton's 66th birthday on Thursday (August 30th), we're taking a look back at the Hollywood icon's style over the years. Vote on all her looks in the slideshow below.
