The man shot the bear with a bow and arrow, then attempted to recover the carcass too soon, authorities said.
"I don't blame the shark, I don't blame the bear, and I don't blame the rattlesnake," the victim said.
The crunching noise, I guess, was the teeth scraping against the skull as it dug in, the 19-year-old said.
