Police say protesters threw bottles and rocks and fought with Trump fans.
He told CNN people at his events are "very angry" and tired of being misled by politicians.
"I wouldnt lead it, but I think bad things would happen."
CNN debate moderators didn't raise the issue, so Trump went on offense.
They lack the courage to criticize him -- even for encouraging assault.
